The man who gave the undermentioned information
was brought to my office at 14.30 hours today (23.5.28) by Inspector CHU HEUNG.
"Three days ago I was informed at my Office
TAI PANG, PC ON district, by one of my men who is a Hoklo,
and a native of Cheong Pai village, Nim Shen district,
that a gang of 28 pirates had completed arrangements for
a contemplated Piracy on a steamer running out of
Shanghai. The final arrangements were made at FAN 10 KONG. These men (pirates) came to Hong Kong by native crafts, possibly by fishing boats: they did not come together, but in small batches. It is also unknown where they stayed while in Hong Kong or by what ship, whether they all went by the same ship or not, to Shanghai. cir movements were kept very secret in view of the reverse they (possibly members of the same gang) suffered in the recent Piracy they embarked upon (S.3. "Irene"). The firearms in this case,
as in all previous cases, are to be taken on board at Changhai. I have no information as to the shipping Company the vessel they have singled out belongs to. My informant furnished me with the names of some of the gang, viz:-
I.
